Toxic Gold is a glowing green variant of Gold which is not normally present in the world. It only appears when The Work is completed Endings#The Toxic Ending in a particular way.

Toxic Gold comes in both a solid and a powder variant, and both are quite damaging. The powder gold is especially harmful, as it can be collected by the Player just like regular powdered gold. However, Toxic Gold will harm the player when touched, and collecting it makes room for even more of the material to harm the player.
Standing on Toxic Gold will usually quickly kill the player, unless they have the Toxic Immunity Perk.
