The lake is an area to the west of the Snowy Wasteland at the edge of the world. The lamprey appears to be found here.

Lake Island[]

The island is approximately in the middle of the Lake and harbors many rarely seen non-hostile creatures such as deer, ducks, sheep and reindeer, along with a large wooden humanoid effigy. There is a 75% chance the island will have the humid effect.

Bottom[]

The Lake itself is roughly as deep as the entire main game path through the biome levels and Holy Mountains, so the journey requires either digging through the Extremely Dense Rock in the steep shores of the Lake to the bottom, the Breathless perk, or some way to evaporate the massive amount of water in the Lake.

The Essence of Spirits can be found at the very bottom of the Lake.

Connecting Areas[]

  • Heading west you will find the huge wall bordering the world, drilling through it will land you in the western parallel worlds.
  • Climbing the wall into the skies will lead you to Cloudscape.
  • Head east and you'll return to the Snowy Wasteland.
  • Filling the cave beneath the effigy with blood will spawn a portal leading to the giant skull in the Desert.

Abandoned Hut[]

Lake Hut

The hut, along with the Alchemist's Note.

On the eastern edge of the Lake there's a small hut similar to those spawned with Kammi. Inside it there's a notebook, the content is written below.

Under the hut is a small container with cosmetic spells that changes the color of the spells you shoot. It is possible to access via the abandoned hut by throwing an emerald tablet into it. This will create a green portal leading you to the container, which disappears after 10 seconds. Note that inside the container it is possible to tinker with your wand.

Alchemist's Note

Item book

Here I'm safe. I am safe.
I left the others behind. And I have locked my research so that only those with real understanding can reach it.
I should not worry. As long as I resist the temptation. I will be safe.
I know my limits. Here I am far away from them.
I should not worry.

In the wall inside the hut there's a glyph resembling an Emerald Tablet. Throwing one at it will open a green portal to a steel chamber within the lake below. Inside it there'll be a Kadotettu alkemisti, a unique experimental wand with stats comparable to those found in the Fungal Caverns in the Coal Pits, and a collection of cosmetic Glimmer spells, unlocking them for any future runs.

Similarly, throwing a Stone Tablet at the glyph will open a green portal to a second steel chamber. Similarly, there'll be a unique experimental wand, albeit with stats similar to those found on Temple of the Art, and a collection of Requirement Spells. Unlocking them for future runs as well.

It is possible to edit wands within the chambers the first time they're entered. Unlocking them will award their respective pillar atop the giant tree.

Tips[]

  • While it is perfectly possible to drain the lake of water, this is inadvisable due to its sheer volume and subsequent data load it puts on your save file, which can lead to crashes. Perform at your own risk.

Trivia[]

  • The wooden figure at this island is possibly a reference to wicker man effigies.
